Project management services were provided by PSI for the design and construction of this $120m facility. This was a complex project that harnessed innovation and received National awards and international recognition for engineering excellence and project delivery.

PSI established a Project Management Office (PMO), assisting Australia's largest integrated logistics company to successfully deliver the right strategic projects on time, safely and within their allocated budgets. The portfolio consisted of 200 projects valued at over $1.8B.

PSI was engaged by Coal Mines Insurance to establish a Project Management Office, to help the client to manage its portfolio of projects ranging from ITC data management and financial systems, to procurement of emergency rescue vehicles and fire fighting training facilities. A strategic portfolio approach was implemented to help prioritise project selection and delivery within constrained budgets.

PSI was engaged to provide independent advice to NSW Health Infrastructure for the:

  • $450m New Maitland Hospital (330 beds)
  • $120m redevelopment of Goulburn Hospital
  • $122m redevelopment of 31 NSW Ambulance Stations
  • $45m new Bulli Aged Care Facility

PSI provided independent reviews of the project delivery plans, cost estimates, financial analysis, risk management and governance processes.

Sydney Bus Network

As part of the Sydney CBD Transport Efficiency Program, PSI was the Independent Adviser to NSW Transport. This consisted of conducting reviews and providing advice on the redesign and modelling of the Sydney Bus Network which will interface with the new Sydney Light Rail and Sydney Metro.

Sydney Darling Harbour Redevelopment

Sydney Darling Harbour Redevelopment

PSI was Independent Adviser to both the Sydney International Convention Centre and the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority for the redevelopment of the Darling Harbour precinct. Services provided included plans for pre-commissioning and readiness for service for the new $3 billion convention centre, and improving public water transport and connectivity to the Darling Harbour entertainment precinct.

Rail Infrastructure

PSI provided project advisory services to:

Transport for NSW and Sydney Trains projects:

  • $400m North Strathfield Rail tunnel and underpass
  • $477m Epping to Thornleigh Third Track and Station Upgrades
  • $570m Albion Park Rail Bypass
  • $870m Sydney Trains Traction Supply Upgrade
  • $380m Sydney Trains Lidcombe to Grandville Corridor Upgrade

Aukland Transport and KiwiRail projects:

  • $3.4B Auckland City Rail Link including underground stations and tunnels 
  • $477m Kaikoura Earthquake mainline repairs and reinstatement

These projects included enhancements to the existing rail networks to increase operational efficiencies and improve freight and passenger links. This included new stations, tunnels, signalling, new track, passing loops and overhead wiring.

PSI provided project construction management services for the $1B+ Lihir Island Gold Mine development in PNG. Challenges included working in a remote area with sensitive environmental and cultural issues. Proactive and detailed planning was necessary to overcome the logisitics of such a remote and senstive location.

PSI provided interface management services for the onshore pipeline construction on environmentally sensitive Barrow Island. This was a $50B project with multiple stakeholders and interfaces in a very sensitive area.

Next Generation Train Project

Next Generation Train Project

PSI was engaged as an independent adviser to Public Transport Victoria for the $750m Regional Ballarat Corridor and Rolling Stock Upgrade. This project consisted of procuring additional VLocity cars to meet short term capacity requirements, and upgrading of the rail corridor from Melbourne to Ballarat including passing loops, station upgrades and signalling.
